Since moving to Hillsboro from UT (where I was a Lead Teacher – Grade 5 Math/Science), I have been working as a Substitute Licensed Elementary Teacher via ESS. During the past school year, I worked more than 90 days at Ladd Acres Elementary, which included a 12-week assignment for the Music Teacher. I became skilled in Trauma-Informed Care, Zones of Regulation, the use of Calming Corners, and Social-Emotional Learning.
I LOVE teaching! It is the most challenging yet most fulfilling job I have ever had. I have exceptional relationships and organizational skills, enthusiasm, and compassion needed for the job. I have proven skills in classroom management with resourceful curriculum planning for diverse classrooms and prior experience with ELL, IEP, and 504 plans. I am also certified in Google for Education - Level 1 and 2.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Washington State University, Pullman. I am passionate about our National Parks and making sure we have this legacy for our children. I enjoy camping, skiing, golfing and a good cup of coffee! I am happily married with two children (ages 11 & 13), two dogs and two gerbils.
My goal is to make a difference in a child's life.... to make them smile, to make them think, to make them feel special.
